A recent match-up with Christin Wiedemann, Oscar Cosmo and Daniel Berggren testing to talk was a very pleasant and stimulating conversation. It reminded me of a problem that would be involved in the recently, where I have the satisfaction of search problem have observed.

There is a problem of complicated performance and became more and more attention from “actors”. Description of the problem (report) was quite detailed about the network for the part of the test (SUT) system in the image. The report describes a fairly large problem in the SUT and research has been ongoing for some time when I finally arrived in the loop.

The current location of research and debt was complicated by the fact that the various problems were observed in the network at the same time (multiple problems in each network element) and thus eliminating the real problem was quite complicated.

Several rounds of extraction of different file format patch to find debt to facilitate control and registration was published. Then there was a kind of inertia little or no progress.

Satisfaction of search
When reading from “how doctors think”, reference [1], I found the notion of search satisfaction. This is where is not a diagnosis based on the observed data (or actually a subset of the full symptoms), no other evidence if the search is performed. The search is fulfilled and the diagnosis.

To read the bug report for the previous issue and relative notes, I found that much evidence points the SUT. There is plenty of information about the errors of the SUT and actions taken to correct it and try it. However, it was something missing for me. Problem/issues don’t seem to be related to the errors that had been corrected.

The description that I read in the bug report would justify that some of the partners are corrected errors (in an attempt to search the main problem), but not really the most serious error. This was necessary to find out more about the surrounding network elements-I suspect that a problem of interaction and understand information about behavior in the rest of the network.

These issues are with the people directly involved. She took another look, now with a different perspective and after some further rounds of location (now with a more comprehensive search) found the problem. An error in another network element that was masked by the interaction between the various elements.

Therefore, errors are ongoing in this example, partially driven by the available data and partly due to what can be established. The actions of these errors were correct. The search for solutions is met by some of the symptoms that can be seen. But those symptoms explained the seriousness of the main problem? Sometimes it is an important question: I can observe symptom x and z, but they put the biggest problem?
